How We Work

HOW WE WORK

The Amazon Emergency Fund is the largest and most diverse alliance working to support peoples of the Amazon in the wake of the COVID-19 emergency.

The Amazon Emergency Fund (AEF) is a newly-formed coalition of indigenous Amazonian federations and non-governmental organizations working in partnership to deliver humanitarian aid to communities impacted by the novel coronavirus in the Amazon basin. The AEF works by fundraising with the support of its 30+ partner organizations to distribute funds to communities directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Amazon Emergency Fund is fiscally sponsored by the Rainforest Foundation US. Grant and governance decisions are carried out under coordination and communication by an established Governance Group which includes indigenous leaders from COICA and its member organizations, representatives of participating NGOs, donors, and advisors who together have formed the Founding Solidarity Circle.

For additional information about the AEF, an overview can be found in ENGLISH, SPANISH and PORTUGUESE
